The Nudists

Two elderly ladies happen to cross paths with two middle-aged men—who are nudists—on the beach where they intended to go for a swim. The men invite them to a date that very afternoon at the nearby beach bar. This chance encounter brings the four characters face to face with hidden desires, the fear of death, and, naturally, every human being’s need to be loved and to share their world with the “Other”.

Drawing references from Oscar Wilde’s comedies to the cinema of Wes Anderson, the performance confronts the dream of an unconventional life. The four roles are performed by two actors, adding abundant humour to the stage narrative, while simultaneously highlighting the value of friendship and the friends who accompany us through both the easy and the difficult times. Weaponized with humour and innocence, the play is a hymn to all people who, regardless of age, are searching for the Great Adventure.
