VASSILIKO THEATREFollowing the core narrative axis of Alexandros Papadiamantis’s original text, and featuring a new, condensed chamber ensemble version of Giorgos Koumendakis’s musical score, The Murderess returns to the theatrical stage to find redemption once more between divine and human justice.
This musical psychography—composed by Koumendakis in a dialogue with the deeply poetic, dark, and timeless core of Papadiamantis’s work while integrating elements of Greek musical tradition into his musical language—meets Karyofyllia Karampeti. Guided by the musical score, she will perform all the roles of the play in a peculiar, feverish, and exceptionally demanding monologue, harnessing the rare musicality of Papadiamantis’s unique linguistic idiom while keeping its dramatic intensity fully intact.
The performance is sponsored by Piraeus Bank
