AMALIA THEATERAn exceptional theatrical adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s masterpiece novella of the same name, which preserves its metaphysical atmosphere while engaging in a dialogue with today—a world that continues to entrap, isolate, and punish. Passion turns into an act of power, love into an obsession, and redemption into a dead end. Nevertheless, the faith in human kindness, the vital need for freedom, and the deep desire of a distinct female existence for genuine communication serve as a bright beacon of hope for the future.
The Story: A man, victim of an unfounded slander, withdraws from society and opens a pawnshop. There, inside his cold isolation, he meets a young orphan girl—an innocent and independent creature struggling to survive. He proposes marriage to her, she accepts, but their marriage transforms into a labyrinth of fear and mutual weakness. Her silence becomes a mirror of his own guilt. The fall, inevitable.
