MOMUS – MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART

Within the framework of the 2026 Dimitria Festival, MOMus – Museum of Contemporary Art organizes a painting exhibition by Konstantinos Vita, the acclaimed musician and member of the pioneering electronic music band Stereo Nova. The exhibition presents to the public works being exhibited for the very first time, revealing an unknown facet of K. Vita, who initially began his journey with studies in painting and art history in Melbourne, where he was born.

The exhibition’s title, derived from the song “Aktogrammi” (Coastline) from Stereo Nova’s 2018 album Ouranos, also references the themes of his artworks, which frequently depict alienated human figures gazing at the sea, a river, or a body of water, whether artificial or natural. Influenced by symbolism and the naïve painters of the 20th century, K. Vita crafts a colourfully intense and deeply personal universe, where human loneliness and the lack of connection between figures coexist with the lyricist’s well-known poeticism, melancholy, and a subtle optimism that people—even within an imaginary landscape—will eventually meet.
