TELOGLION FOUNDATION OF ARTS AUTHMarking the centenary of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the 25th anniversary of the Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation, the exhibition “Techni/ Diagonios and the museum that never came to be” revisits the city’s recent cultural past through two landmark art collections that today form a vital cultural nucleus at the heart of the university campus.
Featuring over 400 works, it brings together the visual art collection of the Macedonian Art Society TECHNI, housed at the Teloglion, and the Dinos Christianopoulos Collection of paintings, prints, and photographs, kept at the AUTh Central Library. From the 1950s through the 1990s, TECHNI and DIAGONIOS — far from being oppositional forces — developed in parallel, offering innovative and fertile contributions to Thessaloniki’s cultural life. This exhibition highlights their shared legacy: an enduring commitment to education and to the city itself.
The exhibition is co-organized by the Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation, the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki–Dimitria Festival, and the AUTh Library & Information Centre. Under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos An. Tasoulas.
