The world-renowned meeting of creators of outstanding short films is hosted in Thessaloniki for the 18th year, within the framework of the 59th Dimitria Festival, with its founder and creator, Giannis Zachopoulos, as its artistic director. Once again, the festival will bring to the city audiovisual gems and wonders. This year’s event offers movie buffs the opportunity to enjoy 88 artistic creations online via the platform e-dimitria, with each three-hour film package available for free for seven days. The packages, which you can activate on a rolling basis (one for each subsequent day), will remain active for seven days each. However, there are also in-person screenings at Warehouse D, at the Port of Thessaloniki. On October 18, 19, and 20, two programs will be screened per day, with each program lasting 150′-180′. This year’s TiSFF roster includes delightful tributes to Cypriot cinema, the Polish avant-garde film school of Łódź, postmodern cinema, as well as award-winning films from the world’s largest recent festivals.

TiSFF, a unique institution for the European cinephile ecosystem, is an international festival aimed at promoting pioneering ideas, trends and proposals as expressed by emerging filmmakers, while highlighting issues related to society, climate change, politics, love, human rights, inclusion and interpersonal relationships, all of which is done with deep love and respect towards the ordinary person and the cinematic values. It has been included among the 44 best short film festivals in the world, 27 of which are European (Cannes, Berlin, Clermont-Ferrand, etc.), and it is the only Greek short film festival listed among the top 3 in the Balkan countries. The festival has traveled across the country (Athens, Patras, Corfu) as well as abroad (Bristol, Brussels, Barcelona, Quebec, Izmir, Santander, etc.), presenting programs showcasing the works of new Greek filmmakers. Beyond the screenings, TISFF, aiming to inform and educate the Greek audience about short film production, has the honor of offering viewers highly engaging presentations and original discussions on the interaction of cinema with the rest of the Fine Arts and Literature. This Q&A session will take place this year on Sunday, October 20, following the screening of the first film of the second program, with director Giannis Oikonomidis as a guest.

Enjoy 88 artistic creations, completely free, on the e-dimitria.gr platform from October 5th to 26th. New, curated three hours film packages will be available for a full week of on-demand viewing.
