Visual identity of the 2025 Dimitria Festival
Thanasis Georgiou (deignmono.gr) created the visual identity of the 60th Dimitria Festival. His concept revolves around the notion of Seasons and Time. The 100th anniversary of the birth of Manolis Anagnostakis coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Dimitria Festival. Therefore, the date is pivotal. The past and history guide the future, but tomorrow also filters the best scenes of yesterday, as the city sails through time.
Thanasis Georgiou explains:
The city and the seasons, the city through Anagnostakis’ Seasons, within the present but also in the midst of a “chronologically undefined future.” From the proud peacock of the artist Svoronos, which was the dominant image in the first markings of the Dimitria festival, to the current colorful, non-iconic, perpetual movement of Thessaloniki and the welcome of the newcomer. With a fan – a reference to Svoronos’ peacock and yesterday, which, however, symbolically unfolds the desire for a colorful cultural puzzle of tomorrow. The abstract approach to the vectorial movement of this year’s visual identity and its applications directly engage with new channels of dialogue and communication, while at the same time projecting the spirit of celebration.
