THESSALONIKI CONCERT HALL, EMILIOS RIADIS HALL, BUILDING (Μ2)Two works, whose common denominator is a woman and her dependence on her phone.
The comic opera “The Telephone or L’amour a trois” (1947) follows a young woman who, much like many of us today, spends her entire day with a phone in hand. In the lyrical tragedy “La Voix Humaine” (1959), a woman “clings” to the receiver, desperately trying to prolong something that has already ended. By connecting the two works through a single protagonist, Lucy, we follow the evolution of her addiction and explore the deeper forces that drive humans towards dependence on technology – and beyond.
