YPSILON, UPPER LADADIKAVelvet Bus Festival 2024, the mobile, multi-thematic festival which encompasses numerous artistic events revolving around music, visual arts, cinema and performance, comes to Thessaloniki. The bus, loaded with artists who travel and present their work throughout Greece, makes a stop in the North in order to introduce a dynamic and energetic street art DIY event to the district of Upper Ladadika.
Velvet Bus aims to embrace the entire country through its activities, to bring all arts into dialogue, to initiate local artists to a discussion with the international art centers and to highlight the beauty and artistic wealth throughout the Greek territory.
This summer, Velvet Bus Festival 2024, a cultural bridge that connects Athens to the rest of Greece, has organized ten events in ten different cities under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the respective Municipalities and Regions and is going to present a program including a selection of artists in each city.
What does Thessaloniki’s menu feature? Well, here it is: concerts with The Callas, Swim, Bhukhurah, Papi the dogtv, and local bands, film screenings and video art with selections from modern Greek cinema as well as short films by new Greek directors. In addition, it includes an art exhibition curated by Iria Vrettou, featuring works of both well-known and up-and-coming representatives of the modern art scene.
