Alexia, who introduced Vocal Jazz to the Greek mainstream music scene, is celebrating 30 years since the release of her internationally acclaimed and multi-platinum album, “Alexia performs the Classics”. Collaborating with Thessaloniki’s City Symphony Orchestra as well as distinguished musicians from her jazz orchestra, Alexia revives the Golden Age of Greek cinema and Greek jazz from the 1930s to the 1960s. She brings back songs with melody, harmony, and beautiful orchestrations that serve and glorify the sonic fusion of the authentic Big Band era with the symphonic timbre. With timeless songs like “An s’ arnitho” by Mimis Plessas, “Ti einai auto pou to lene agapi” by Takis Morakis, “Exo appose rantevou” by Giorgos Mouzakis and many more, the concert will transport us to the eras of Greek cinematic innocence.
